New Executive Director Announced for KidsMatter: Naperville Not-For-Profit
Naperville, IL – KidsMatter, the Naperville Not-for-Profit dedicated to empowering kids to say no to destructive choices and yes to endless possibilities, has announced that Nina Menis will be the organization’s next Executive Director. Ms. Menis will succeed Kamala Martinez, with an anticipated start date of June 8, 2021.
“Thanks to solid leadership, KidsMatter is in good shape, in terms of programs, finances and cooperative relationships,” said Board President Dr. Laura Bokar. “Over the past 20 years, our executive directors have built a valued service to the community and we are excited to welcome Nina as the new Executive Director of KidsMatter. With her advanced leadership and community relations skills, we look forward to our future as she empowers kids and families in our community.”
Ms. Menis has worked in advancement for both public and private P-20 educational institutions, in association management, and for area not-for-profits for over 30 years. She most recently directed the Annual Giving program at the College of DuPage. Previously Ms. Menis also served as Director of School Advancement for Science & Arts Academy and as the Executive Director of the National School Foundation Association. From 2010-2013 she helped support the A+ Foundation and a collaborative community initiative with West Aurora School District 129, “Aurora Regional Pathways to Prosperity”, in partnership with Harvard Graduate School of Education and Jobs for the Future. She also served as Director of Community Relations at Naperville School District 203 (Oct. 2003–July 2010).

Kamala Martinez recently announced her resignation in order to serve as the next President & CEO of United Way of Will County. “I am humbled to have been given the opportunity to lead KidsMatter these past 3 years and wish you and this wonderful organization continued success.”
