YOUTH SERVICE AWARDS

Each year community leaders nominate youth in the area who demonstrate a passion for providing service to both their community and world.

STEP ONE

Community leaders nominate youth in the Greater Naperville, Illinois area who demonstrate a passion for providing service to both their community and world.

STEP TWO

Information on nominees is submitted and reviewed by a panel of KidsMatter members and partners to determine who the finalists should be.

STEP THREE

Around 25 nominees are awarded a Youth Service Award by KidsMatter and are then honored by the City of Naperville Mayor, Scott Wehrli, and Councilpersons in an awards ceremony.

WINNERS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS

Since 1993, the City of Naperville has presented the Youth Service Award to recognize and honor outstanding volunteer efforts by local Naperville area students and to encourage all youth to get involved in community service.

KidsMatter, together with Mayor Scott Wehrli and the City Council, now has the honor of managing the program and honoring young people who connect with opportunities that give them a sense of purpose, provide them with valuable hands-on experiences, and ignite the volunteer spirit that has helped make Naperville the thriving community it is today.
