Beyond being a Church in the community, Good Shepherd has a vibrant disability ministry serving families in the community.

Description of Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteers are welcome to serve at any of our events and programs, including Buddy Break, our monthly respite ministry held on the second Saturday of each month.

Whether you have experience supporting individuals with disabilities or simply have a heart for children and families, there is a place for you! Volunteers are paired with one of our VIPs or their siblings to help create a fun, safe, and engaging morning filled with games, crafts, activities, and free play.

While volunteers invest in the lives of these amazing children and teens, parents and caregivers receive three hours to rest, run errands, enjoy a date, or simply take a much-needed break. It’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact—not only on a child, but on an entire family.

Minimum Age Requirement:

9th Grade

Skills or Experience Necessary:

Comfortable with children of all abilities.  Able to engage others and make them feel welcome.
