Councilwoman
City of Naperville

With a proud history of public service, Patty Gustin was re-elected to the City Council in 2019. Prior to first being elected Councilwoman in 2015, Gustin served for 16 years on the Naperville Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, including as Planning and Zoning Commission chairwoman. An experienced real estate broker and Naperville businesswoman, she previously served the Federal government at the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare; the Chicago U.S. Attorney’s Office Department of Justice Criminal Division; and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where she met her husband. They have three children—an engineer, attorney, and teacher that are all graduates of Naperville schools—and two grandchildren. Gustin graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Organization and Management and Roosevelt University with a degree in Paralegal Studies.

Gustin is committed to keeping Naperville a world-class city that plans for its future while not losing the perspective of past leaders that made Naperville the safe, inclusive and growing community it is today. She continues to emphasize maintaining the City’s sound infrastructure and fiscal integrity while prudently delivering public safety, utility and other services that keep Naperville an acclaimed place to live and do business.  Gustin also continues to press Naperville forward in technological efforts that reduce the cost of delivering services while also improving them and supports growing Naperville through responsible and respectful development. Gustin continues to champion responsibly moving Naperville forward to serve future generations while simultaneously ensuring her cherished community loses none of its character.

To aid in achieving these goals, Councilwoman Gustin is a City Council liaison to the Downtown Advisory Commission, the Sister Cities Commission, and the DuPage Mayors & Managers Conference. She is a member of the Realtor Government Affairs Board, Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, Exchange Club, Naperville Woman’s Club, Cress Creek Garden Club and League of Women Voters; she also serves on other local boards and organizations such as Naperville Responds to our Veterans and the Naperville Healing Field.

Councilwoman Gustin’s current term expires in 2023.
