Amanda Kunzer is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, an Illinois Licensed Addiction Counselor, and a Certified Anger Management Specialist with the National Anger Management Association. Amanda has worked for over 20 years in the mental health field. She has vast experience counseling the chronically mentally ill, helping homeless women and children find and maintain housing, and treating individuals struggling with substance use issues. In addition, she is trained in crisis intervention and has been a member of the DuPage County Disaster Team.
Amanda is passionate about connecting with friends, neighbors, schools, chambers, and community members and educating them about the importance and acceptance of mental health treatment. Her extensive background in the mental health field is a tremendous asset when someone is struggling to find the appropriate type of treatment for themselves, or a friend or family member should connect to.
Currently, Amanda is the Director of Operations at Susan Myket, Ph.D. & Associates; a Child, Teen, and Family Psychology Practice. Increasing access to allow more youth and families to be seen and working with community stakeholders to design programs to meet current needs are Amanda’s goals.
Amanda was born and raised in Naperville and currently resides here with her son, a soon-to-be graduate. When she is not connecting in the community, she can be found at her son’s gymnastics meets, volunteering, reading, or the occasional Netflix binge.
