2012 Volunteer Fair
Providing Service Opportunities for Youth!
Tuesday, October 2, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Naperville Municipal Center, 400 Eagle Street
The 10th annual Youth Volunteer Fair for students in grades 6 through 12 will be held on Wednesday, October 2, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the City Municipal Center, located at 400 South Eagle Street. Local non-profit organizations will be on hand to showcase their volunteer and advocacy opportunities, enabling students to find service venues that match their interests, major, and career goals. This freefair is open to students from all area middle and high schools, and is an ideal opportunity for youth groups from faith communities, scout troops and other youth organizations to choose their service projects.
KidsMatter is proud to offer this event to facilitate volunteer connections and help ignite the volunteer spirit that has shaped our thriving community. Many schools promote and/or require community service, and the KidsMatter Volunteer Fair provides young people with a myriad of opportunities that will compliment both their interests and schedules.
Over 25 organizations who need youth volunteers in order to deliver their services will be participating in this year’s Fair. These are locally-based groups such as Northern Illinois Food Bank, Naper Settlement, NCO Youth and Family Services (soon to be called 360 Youth Services), American Cancer Society, Feed My Starving Children, the YMCA, The Morton Arboretum, Will County Forest Preserve, and the DuPage Children’s Museum, to name a few. Each organization will have representatives on-hand to share the exciting opportunities they have for both students and families to positively impact the lives of other people.

A special opportunity: Help provide shoes for “shoeless” children in 3rd world countries! Bring your gently used shoes to the Fair and “Share Your Soles” will deliver them to needy children and adults.
